Trusting God with Our Hearts
In the midst of struggle, it’s easy to ignore the areas of our lives that need healing. But God desires us to be vulnerable with Him, to trust Him with our hearts, and to allow Him to heal us. As Psalm 28:7 reminds us, “The Lord is my strength and my shield, my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song will I praise him.”
A Personal Encounter
I recall a pivotal moment when a professor pointed out an area of struggle in my life that I had been trying to brush under the rug. Her words struck a chord, and tears welled up in my eyes. It took courage to acknowledge my need for healing, but it was the first step towards freedom.
The Courage to Face Our Fears
When Jesus encountered the Samaritan woman at the well, He exposed her sin, and she had a choice: to respond with courage or to flee. She chose to face her fears, sharing her story with her town, and ultimately leading many to God (John 4:30). This kind of vulnerability takes courage, but it’s exactly what God desires from us.
God’s Healing Power
God is the only one who can forgive us, heal us, love us through our struggles, and guide us towards redemption. The Samaritan woman’s testimony not only brought healing to her own heart but also to the many who came to God that day. When we trust God with our hearts, we open ourselves up to His healing power.
A Prayer for Healing
Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me and being present in my times of need. I surrender to you the areas of my life that need healing [state the areas you need God to heal]. I ask that you would heal me, and I desire to draw closer to you, knowing you more intimately. Amen.
Starting a Relationship with Jesus
If you don’t have a relationship with Jesus, you can learn how to start one and begin your journey towards healing and redemption.
