Finding the Ultimate Authority on Life: Seeking Answers from the Source

The Ultimate Authority on Life

Have you ever encountered someone who seemed to have all the answers? Someone who oozed confidence and certainty, leaving you feeling like they were the ultimate authority on, well, everything? I have. And, to be honest, it was quite annoying.

As a 12-year-old, I had the misfortune of hosting a know-it-all city boy at our family farm. He was only 13, but his arrogance knew no bounds. I wasn’t interested in listening to his opinions, and I certainly didn’t want to be told what to do by someone who thought they had all the answers.

The Value of Expertise

But, as I grew older, I began to realize the importance of seeking out experts in various fields. When my car breaks down, I take it to a mechanic. When I’m ill, I visit a doctor. And when I need design plans, I consult an architect. Why? Because I recognize that I need help in these areas, and experts can provide valuable insights and solutions.

The Ultimate Expert

So, what if there was someone who truly had all the answers? Someone who knew the secrets of the universe and could offer guidance on life’s biggest questions? Wouldn’t it make sense to seek out this person for answers? For me, that someone is the creator God – the ultimate authority on life.

A Personal Encounter

I’ve come to realize that God not only knows me, but he has also declared his love for me. He’s the benevolent expert, and I’ve been drawn to seek him out for answers. But, I must admit, it’s not always easy. My pride, self-reliance, busyness, and doubt often get in the way.

A Humble Prayer

Father God, I confess that I often struggle to listen to you because of my own shortcomings. You truly are the expert on life, and you know me better than I know myself. Your wisdom far surpasses my best ideas. I’m listening. Guide me!

A Challenge to You

What do you worry about the most? Are you seeking answers from the Source of everything, or trying to figure things out on your own? Take a moment to reflect on your priorities. God can bring wisdom and resources beyond your own to these situations if you trust him. Will you listen?
