Uncovering the Depths of God’s Presence
In the midst of life’s turmoil, it’s easy to lose sight of God’s presence. The weight of heartaches, trials, and disappointments can pile up, obscuring our view of Him. But what if we could tap into a deeper level of connection with God? A place where His comfort, guidance, and peace flow freely?
The Rains of Life
Just as the rains nourish the soil, bringing new life to the earth, so too can the challenges of life bring forth new growth and depth in our relationship with God. But we must be willing to dwell deep, to quiet our busy spirits and listen for His whispers of comfort.
A Veil of Distractions
Often, we allow the distractions of daily life to veil our connection with God. We dash in and out of His presence, never truly taking the time to abide in Him. But Jesus invites us to remain in His presence, to let go of our busyness and distractions, and to simply be still.
Preparing for His Presence
To truly experience God’s comfort and guidance, we must prepare our hearts by being still. In the quietness, we can hear His soothing words and find peace in the midst of turmoil. As David sang, “Deep calls unto deep…The Lord will command His loving kindness in the daytime, and in the night His song shall be with me.”
Dwelling Deep
To dwell deep is to dig beneath the layers of discouragement, grief, and heartache that can separate us from God’s presence. It’s to abide in Him, to gaze upon His holiness, and to exchange our fears for His courage, our defeat for His victory. In this deep place, we can find comfort, hope, and restoration.
Fleeing the Enemy
The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy our connection with God. But we can flee from his attacks by dwelling deep in our souls, where God’s presence abides. Here, we can find refuge from the storms of life and experience the fullness of God’s life.
A Life of Abundance
God’s purpose is to give us life in all its fullness. By dwelling deep, we can experience this abundance, exchanging our brokenness for His wholeness, our darkness for His light. Will you take the time to dwell deep, to gaze upon God’s holiness, and to be changed into His likeness?
