The Struggle is Real: Overcoming Self-Doubt and Condemnation
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you lost your cool, said something you regretted, and wondered why you did it? You’re not alone. I’ve been there too, and it’s a frustrating feeling.
The Battle Within
Recently, I had a disagreement with my husband that escalated into a heated argument. I was left feeling angry with myself, wondering why I couldn’t keep my emotions in check. The question “why did I do it?” echoed in my mind, and I couldn’t shake off the feeling of condemnation.
A Familiar Struggle
The apostle Paul expressed a similar sentiment in Romans 7:15, “I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.” It’s a struggle many of us face, and it’s easy to get caught up in self-doubt and condemnation.
Breaking Free from Condemnation
But here’s the good news: there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1-2). Jesus took care of our condemnation on the cross, and we are free from the law of sin and death. This truth is a beautiful gift, and it’s essential to accept it as part of our inheritance as born-again believers.
Embracing Freedom
When we blow it, and we will, there is no need to beat ourselves up over it. Instead, we can acknowledge our mistake, ask for forgiveness, and move forward. We don’t have to let self-doubt and condemnation hold us back. We can live in the freedom that Christ has given us.
Moving Forward
I’m not saying it’s easy, and I’ll probably blow it again. But I’m choosing to focus on the truth that I am free from condemnation, and I’m grateful for that. I want to encourage you to do the same. Let’s embrace our freedom in Christ and live a life that reflects His love and grace.
