The Power of Small Choices
Every day, we’re faced with opportunities to demonstrate our character. It’s in the little things, the seemingly insignificant moments, that our integrity is shaped. Will we take the high road or the easy way out?
The Little Things That Matter
Think about it. How often do we encounter situations where we can choose to do the right thing, even when no one is watching? Maybe it’s returning the wrong change, correcting an error on a bill, or making responsible TV program choices. These small actions may seem trivial, but they reveal our true nature.
A Lesson from Scripture
The Bible offers valuable insight into the importance of these small choices. In Luke 16:10, we’re reminded that “whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” This verse highlights the significance of our daily decisions, no matter how small they may seem.
Where Is Your Line of Integrity?
As we go about our daily lives, we’re constantly faced with opportunities to test our integrity. Are we honest in our dealings, even when it’s inconvenient? Do we take the time to correct mistakes, even if it’s tedious? These small choices reveal where our line of integrity lies.
A Prayer for Integrity
Father God, I thank you for spurring me on to be all you want me to be. Help me today to move my line of integrity forward. Give me the courage to be honest in the small things, even when no one is watching. I want to be faithful in the everyday moments, so that I may be trusted with more influence, more resources, and more opportunities to see your power displayed. May your Holy Spirit guide me in my choices, and may I bring glory to your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
