Beyond the Ballot: Choosing Eternal Leadership

A Time for Reflection and Choice

As the 2024 political campaigns come to a close, the nation stands at a crossroads. With national and local elections just hours away, the people are left to ponder which path to take, which leaders to trust, and which vision to embrace. Amidst the uncertainty, anxiety, and fear that often accompany times of change, it’s essential to remember that there’s a higher authority to turn to.

A Choice Beyond Politics

In the midst of political rhetoric and promises, we’re faced with a fundamental question: who will we serve? Will we bow to the whims of human leaders, or will we choose to serve the Lord God Almighty? The Bible reminds us that every creature in heaven, on earth, and under the earth will one day proclaim, “Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!” (Revelation 5:13).

A Legacy of Faith

Joshua’s declaration, “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15), serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of making a conscious choice to follow God. This decision is not just a personal one, but a legacy that can shape generations to come.

The One True King

In the end, all earthly kings and presidents will bow down to the Lord of Lords, the King of Kings. Jesus Christ, the one who sits on the throne, will be proclaimed as Lord by every tongue, in heaven, on earth, and under the earth (Philippians 2:10-11). As believers, we can have eternal assurance, peace, and hope in the face of uncertainty, knowing that our trust is in the one true King.

A Call to Faith

So, as we stand at this critical juncture, let us not forget the one choice that transcends politics, parties, and human leaders. Let us choose to serve the Lord God Almighty, the one who offers answers, faith, trust, direction, and hope. In a world filled with uncertainty, let us fix our eyes on the one who sits on the throne, and proclaim with confidence, “Jesus is the one choice, now and forever.”
