Trusting in God’s Timing
As I reflect on my spiritual journey, one verse stands out as a guiding light: “Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD” (Psalm 27:14, NLT). This promise has been etched in my heart since the day I surrendered my life to Jesus. In that moment, I knew I needed to let go of my desire for instant gratification and learn to trust in God’s perfect timing.
The Struggle with Waiting
Growing up in a world of instant results, I was accustomed to getting what I wanted quickly. But God doesn’t work on our timeline. He requires us to trust Him fully, even when we’re forced to wait. Watchman Nee reminds us that true followers of God believe in His promises, His presence, and our ability to overcome through Him.
Learning to Lean on God
Waiting doesn’t mean God has abandoned us. On the contrary, it’s an opportunity to deepen our dependence on Him. If we received everything we wanted instantly, would we develop the strength, courage, and endurance needed to face life’s challenges? Waiting on God teaches us to surrender our need for control and follow Jesus instead.
A Prayer for Courage
Father, I confess it’s hard to wait when life’s storms rage around me. Help me to trust in You and hold on to Your promises. Fill me with Your Spirit, that I may be brave and courageous in the face of trials. I will wait patiently, trusting You completely. Amen.
Reflecting on Our Waiting
What are you waiting on God for today? Are you waiting prayerfully and patiently, or with frustration and self-reliance? Take a moment to ask God for the strength and endurance to be courageous in Him as you wait patiently.
