Words That Shape: Building Young Lives with Love and Encouragement

Shaping Young Lives with the Power of Our Words

As I reflect on the past six years of nurturing my eldest child, I’m reminded of the profound impact our words can have on shaping their hearts and minds. The journey hasn’t always been easy, with moments of encouragement and discouragement. However, I’ve come to realize the significance of speaking words that bring life and blessing.

The Language of Blessing

Words have the power to either build up or tear down. I’ve learned to focus on using language that conveys acceptance, affection, appreciation, approval, and attention. These words can strengthen and give life to those around us. On the other hand, we can also use our words to curse, employing degrading, derisive, derogatory, destructive, displeasing, and disapproving language that can harden hearts.

A Choice to Make

The tongue holds immense power, and we have a choice to make every day. We can choose to speak words that uplift and inspire, or ones that hurt and discourage. Today, I’m reminded to ask God to guide my words and thoughts, ensuring they align with His heart.

A Prayer for Wisdom

Father, I ask for your guidance in using my words to build up, strengthen, and encourage those around me. Help me to avoid breaking down what you intend to shape in their lives. May my words be a blessing, bringing life and hope to those who hear them. Amen.

The Impact of Our Words

Our words have the power to shape destinies, and it’s essential to recognize the weight of our responsibility as parents, caregivers, and influencers. By choosing to speak life-giving words, we can create a ripple effect of positivity that spreads far and wide.
