Reaching the Unreached: A Fresh Approach
As we reflect on the Great Commission, we’re reminded of the importance of spreading God’s love to all corners of the world. In Luke 14:23, Jesus instructs us to “go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full.” This verse serves as a powerful reminder of our responsibility to share the Gospel with those who have yet to hear it.
Prayerful Preparation
One Campus Crusade for Christ staff member took this command to heart, praying for guidance before making a series of phone calls. With a random last name selected from the phone book, she embarked on an evening of sharing God’s love with strangers. The results were astonishing! Four people engaged with her message, each with a unique response.
Diverse Encounters
The first person she spoke with was a young boy who had already accepted Christ. The second was a woman who claimed to be deeply religious, yet lacked understanding of the Gospel. A devout cult member politely listened to her message, but declined to explore further. However, the fourth person she spoke with was receptive, praying with her to invite Christ into her life.
Empowered by Faith
This experience illustrates the power of faith and creativity in sharing the Good News. The telephone can become a powerful tool in our hands, allowing us to reach people we may never have encountered otherwise. As we seek to fulfill the Great Commission, let us remember to think outside the box and trust in God’s guidance.
Be Inspired to Act
May this story inspire you to explore new ways of sharing Jesus with others. Whether through phone calls, social media, or in-person conversations, the possibilities are endless. As we step out in faith, we can trust that God will use our efforts to bring people to Himself.
