Embracing Transformation: A Journey of Spiritual Growth
As I flipped through my daily scripture calendar, one powerful verse from 2 Corinthians 3:18 stood out: “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” These words pierced my heart, and I couldn’t help but reflect on the transformative work God is doing in my life.
The Desire to Be Like Jesus
I want to be more like Jesus – to embody His love, kindness, and compassion. While there are moments when I sense progress, there are also times when I feel like I’m falling short. I struggle with self-control, often speaking before thinking, and making hasty judgments. My heart longs to overflow with unconditional love, especially towards those who are difficult to love.
Confronting Shortcomings
As I mentally tallied my shortcomings, I had to remind myself that hope is not lost. God is actively working in my life, and if I surrender to His will, I will be transformed. This transformation won’t exempt me from battles and struggles, but it will equip me to overcome them.
The Power of Surrender
Romans 12:1-2 encourages us to present our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God. This means refusing to conform to the world’s standards and instead allowing our minds to be renewed. As we do so, we’ll discover the perfect will of God, and our lives will be transformed from glory to glory.
A Life of Ongoing Transformation
I’ve come to realize that transformation is a lifelong process. It’s a journey marked by setbacks and triumphs, but ultimately, it’s a journey of growth and spiritual maturity. As I continue to seek God’s guidance, I’m confident that I’ll be transformed into the image of His Son, Jesus. And that’s a promise worth holding onto.
