Embracing the Unwavering Support of God
As we navigate the twists and turns of life, it’s essential to remember that we’re not alone. In times of uncertainty, we need a reliable anchor to hold onto. The Bible reminds us to “cling to the Lord your God” (Joshua 23:8, AMP), but what does that truly mean?
The Power of Unwavering Trust
I recall a vivid memory of my daughter Val helping me pack boxes during a move. Her eight-month-old son, Zachary, would grasp her leg, refusing to let go. This image illustrates the concept of clinging to the Lord. Just as Zachary trusted his mother to guide him, we must trust God to lead us through life’s challenges.
Letting Go of Control
Clinging to the Lord requires surrender. We must open our arms and hands, releasing our grip on control. We can’t hold onto God with arms crossed or hands clenched. He invites us to trust Him, and in return, He promises to carry us through life’s struggles.
Choosing to Trust
Clinging to the Lord is an act of the will. We have a choice: to trust Him or go it alone. When we choose to cling to Him, we align ourselves with His plan, even when the path ahead is uncertain. He is the strong One, and we are weak without Him.
The Loneliness of Self-Sufficiency
Going through life alone can be lonely and exhausting. But God is always available, waiting for us to reach out and cling to Him. Why not take a moment to pray and recommit to trusting Him?
A Prayer of Surrender
Dear Father, I’ve been trying to live life without You, and I’m tired, lost, and lonely. I want to get back on Your back and cling to You. Thank You for always being there to grasp my hand when I ask. Amen.
Holding Fast to Faith
As we cling to the Lord, we can rest assured that He will anchor us in faith, even in the midst of turmoil. May we strap ourselves to His unwavering love, trusting that He will bring us through every storm.
