The Prophecy of Jesus’ Birth
In the small town of Bethlehem, a significant event was foretold by the prophet Micah. A ruler would emerge from this humble place, one who would shepherd God’s people with strength and majesty.
A Promise of Peace
This future leader would bring peace to the people, and his greatness would be recognized to the ends of the earth. He would be the one to gather the remnants of God’s flock, scattered across the nations, and bring them back to their homeland.
The Birth of Jesus
Centuries later, in the city of Nazareth, an angel appeared to a young virgin named Mary. She was chosen by God to bear a son, Jesus, who would be great and reign over the house of Jacob forever.
The Fulfillment of Prophecy
As Mary and her betrothed, Joseph, traveled to Bethlehem, the time came for her to give birth. And so, Jesus was born in the very town prophesied by Micah, fulfilling the ancient promise.
Wise Men from the East
After Jesus’ birth, wise men from the east followed a star to Jerusalem, seeking the newborn king. They were guided by the prophecy of Micah, which pointed them to Bethlehem as the birthplace of the Messiah.
A Life of Humility and Sacrifice
Jesus’ life would be marked by humility and sacrifice. Though he was in the form of God, he did not grasp for equality with God but instead emptied himself, taking the form of a servant. He humbled himself to the point of death on the cross, demonstrating his love for humanity.
Exaltation and Worship
God highly exalted Jesus, bestowing on him the name above every name. At the name of Jesus, every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that he is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
