**The Unshakable Promise**
Do you ever feel like you’re standing alone in a chaotic world, abandoned by those you trusted to love and support you? It’s a terrifying feeling, one that can linger long after the initial pain has passed. I know it all too well. My own experience of abandonment dates back to when I was just five years old, huddled in fear during a World War II air raid. The memory of that day still sends shivers down my spine.
But here’s the thing: those feelings of abandonment don’t have to define us. As Christians, we have a rock-solid promise to cling to – one that transcends the failures of humanity. God Himself has declared, “I will never leave you; I will never forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5-6, Amplified). It’s a promise that echoes through the ages, a beacon of hope in the darkest of times.
When the doubts creep in and the fears resurface, I remind myself of this unshakeable truth. I counter the lies with the Word of God, repeating it like a mantra: “I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support.” It’s a promise that brings comfort, peace, and security in the midst of turmoil.
We will all face disappointments in life, but we don’t have to face them alone. Jesus offers us a security that’s not dependent on human relationships or circumstances. He is our Rock, our Refuge, and our Savior. And when the feelings of abandonment come knocking, we can stand firm, knowing that God’s grip on us is unrelenting. Assuredly not!
