Getting Back on Track

**Finding My Way Back to the Right Path**

As I carved through the powdery snow on the mountain, I couldn’t help but feel a rush of adrenaline coursing through my veins. It was as if my daredevil days had been reignited. But little did I know, I was about to take a detour down a path that would test my faith and trust in God.

It all started when my husband and I decided to hit the slopes at a ski resort near Lake Tahoe. We had discovered our love for skiing in the early 1990s, and I had worked my way up from the bunny slopes to more challenging green and blue runs. But on this particular day, I found myself on a black diamond trail called JABOOM! – a route that was far beyond my skill level.

As I struggled to navigate the treacherous terrain, I realized that I had taken a wrong turn somewhere. The moguls and icy ridges seemed to stretch on forever, and I felt like I was losing my way. It was then that I heard my husband’s voice yelling out to me, “You’re on a black diamond!” My heart sank, and I felt a wave of defeat wash over me.

In that moment, I was reminded of God’s promise to guide us along the straight path. But it’s our choices that determine whether we stay on course or veer off in a different direction. I realized that I had taken my eyes off the path, and I needed to refocus on God’s guidance.

**The Power of Surrender**

Today’s verse encourages us to take action and surrender to God’s will. It’s easy to get caught up in our own plans and desires, but it’s only when we submit to God’s guidance that we can truly find our way.

As I looked up to the mountain peaks, I prayed for God to direct my path and guide my decisions. I asked for the strength to surrender my will to His, and to trust in His promises even when I didn’t understand.

**A Lesson in Trust**

The experience on the mountain taught me a valuable lesson about trust and surrender. It reminded me that God’s truth remains the same from age to age, and that His guidance is always available to us.

Before making any decision, take a moment to ask God to direct your thoughts and paths. Seek His guidance and surrender to His will. Remember, it’s only when we trust in Him that we can truly find our way back to the right path.

**Prayer**

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for directing my path as I follow your commands and trust you with all of my heart. When I do not understand, please help me to rest in your promises and to continue to seek your guidance by submitting to you. In Jesus’s name, amen.
