Unlocking the Secrets of Spiritual Vision
To live a life deeply connected to the divine, we must break free from the limitations of our earthly existence. The Holy Spirit is always at work, guiding us through times of uncertainty, refining our spiritual senses, and teaching us to perceive God’s presence even in the darkest moments.
The Purpose of Darkness
During these trials, it may seem as though God has abandoned us, but in reality, He is training us to see and hear beyond the physical realm. He is awakening our inner being to recognize His presence, regardless of our outer circumstances. As we learn to tune out the noise of our fears and desires, we begin to comprehend the limitless power of God.
A Deeper Perception
The outcome of this inner spiritual working is a profound understanding that nothing is impossible for God. Even in times of darkness, we are compelled to seek Him more earnestly, and our reverence for His light grows. This process ultimately opens us up to behold God’s glory, just as Isaiah wrote, “The whole earth is full of His glory” (Isaiah 6:3).
Biblical Examples
Throughout history, individuals have beheld God’s glory, including Moses, who endured “as seeing Him who is invisible” (Hebrews 11:27 KJV). The Bible was written by people who experienced the glory of God firsthand. Our spiritual vision is not a product of imagination but a result of the living union of the Holy Spirit with our hearts.
Removing the Veils
If we remove the barriers of sin, shame, and self-absorption, and persist in seeking God, we should expect to see His glory. This open perception is biblical and should be pursued! Yet, some would have us believe that accessing greater spiritual realities is a false hope. Be cautious of those who would have you settle for religion without vision, as if beholding God’s glory was a sin.
A Legacy of Glory
Consider the many biblical figures who saw the glory of the Lord: Abraham, Isaiah, Ezekiel, David, Habakkuk, Solomon, and Zechariah. Even Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and the seventy Hebrew elders beheld God’s glory. The Bible describes this incredible scene, saying that “under His feet there appeared to be a pavement of sapphire, as clear as the sky itself” (Exodus 24:10).
A Universal Experience
The fact is, over six million Israelites saw God’s glory on Mount Sinai. Young and old, people of every age and physical condition, saw “the glory of the Lord [as it] rested on Mount Sinai.” They even heard the voice of God speaking to them (Deuteronomy 4:33)! This unveiling of glory did not stop at Sinai but continued throughout their journey, guiding them by day and illuminating their path by night.
Anticipating Glory
If you are a God-seeker, you should expect to see the glory of God! Anticipate that any day now, the Spirit of God will appear to you in some marvelous and life-changing way. By Francis Frangipane.
