Unlocking a Deeper Connection with God
Many people have shared with me that my writings inspire them to cultivate a deeper relationship with God. They realize that it’s possible to have a meaningful connection with Him, and it’s not as complicated as they thought. The truth is, it’s remarkably simple.
The Power of an Open Heart
An open heart is one that welcomes God in, making time for Him in our daily lives. It’s easy to get caught up in our busy schedules and wonder why we don’t feel close to God. But what are we prioritizing? Are we making time for activities that bring us joy, yet neglecting to nurture our spiritual growth?
I recall a conversation with a lady who confessed that she couldn’t fit a quiet time into her schedule, yet she managed to wake up at 5:00 am multiple times a week to train for marathons. This got me thinking – what are we dedicating our time to? If we can make time for running, why not for God?
The Joy of Intimacy
One of my favorite hymns, “In the Garden,” resonates deeply with me. The lyrics speak of a heart that’s open to God, and the joy that comes from spending time with Him. The writer’s words evoke a sense of intimacy and connection with the Lord.
A Heart That Welcomes God
The chorus of “In the Garden” beautifully captures the essence of a heart that’s open to God:
“And He walks with me,
And He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own,
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.”
This hymn reminds us that when we open our hearts to God, He delights in filling us with joy. It’s not about finding time in our busy schedules, but about making God a priority in our lives.
Taking the First Step
If you’re longing for a deeper connection with God, I encourage you to take the first step. Make time for Him, and watch how He transforms your life. It’s not complicated; it’s simply a matter of opening your heart to Him.
