Reflecting the Glory of the Lord
As I strolled along the serene lake on a tranquil Sunday evening, the calm blue waters mirroring the trees at the edge in perfect stillness, my mind wandered back to the morning’s church message based on 2 Corinthians 3. My thoughts lingered on verse 18, the chapter’s final verse, which resonated deeply within me.
A Reflection of Divine Glory
The idea that I can reflect the glory of the Lord, much like a reflection in glass or a mirror, is a profound truth that I struggle to fully comprehend. Yet, it’s a reality that humbles me to my core. The fact that Jesus Christ dwells within me, working through His Spirit to transform me into His likeness, is a privilege and responsibility that’s both exhilarating and daunting.
A Transformation Beyond Human Capability
This transformation is not something I can achieve on my own; it’s the work of Christ’s Spirit within me. As I yield to His presence, day by day, I become a more accurate reflection of His glory. It’s a lifelong process, one that requires me to be a willing vessel, surrendering to His transformative power.
An Honor and a Challenge
Reflecting the glory of the Lord is not only an immense honor but also an immeasurable challenge. It’s a reminder that I am not my own, but a temple where the Holy Spirit resides. As I walk in obedience to His will, I become a reflection of His character, shining His light to a world in need.
Embracing the Reflection
May I, and may you, dear believer, be willing vessels, surrendered to the transformative power of Christ’s Spirit. As we do, we’ll increasingly reflect the glory of our Lord, radiating His love, grace, and wisdom to all around us.
