The Cry of Loneliness
Have you ever felt like you’re drowning in a sea of abandonment? Like the world has turned its back on you, leaving you to face the darkness alone? You’re not alone. The most profound cry of loneliness in history didn’t come from a broken heart or a forsaken soul. It came from the lips of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, as He hung on the cross.
A Scream of Desperation
“My God, my God,” Jesus screamed, “Why did you abandon me?” (Matthew 27:46). These words, uttered in anguish, still resonate with us today. They speak to the deep-seated fear of being unloved, unwanted, and abandoned. It’s a cry that echoes through the ages, a desperate plea for connection and understanding.
The Weight of Loneliness
We’ve all been there – feeling like we’re staring into the abyss, with no safety net to catch us. The divorced, the abandoned child, the one-night stand, the silent phone – each one a painful reminder that we’re not invincible. We’re vulnerable, fragile, and desperately in need of love.
A God Who Understands
But in the midst of our despair, there’s hope. Jesus, the one who screamed in anguish, understands our pain. He knows what it’s like to feel forsaken, to cry out to a seemingly silent heaven. And in His understanding, we find comfort. We find a God who listens, who sees our tears, and who brushes them away with a pierced hand.
No Answers, Only Presence
He may not offer us answers to our questions, nor solve our dilemmas. But He offers us something far more precious – His presence. In the darkest moments, when all seems lost, He’s there, whispering words of comfort, reminding us that we’re not alone.
A Love That Never Fades
So, if you’re feeling like you’re drowning in a sea of loneliness, remember – you’re not alone. Jesus understands. He’s been there, too. And in His love, you’ll find a solace that never fades, a love that whispers, “You are loved, you are wanted, you are mine.”
