Honoring God Daily: 3 Practical Steps

As we navigate our daily lives, it’s essential to prioritize our relationship with God. In Psalm 145:1-6, David shares three practical ways to honor our Lord daily, strengthening and enhancing our walk with Jesus.

Praise God Every Day

David writes, “Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever” (vs 2). Our days should begin and end with praise, overflowing into every aspect of our lives. As we walk, work, and travel, let our hearts be filled with gratitude and adoration for our Lord. Praise is contagious, inspiring others to follow our example. When we hum a hymn or share a testimony, we can spark a chain reaction of worship.

Meditate on God’s Wonderful Works

In verse 5b, David says, “I will meditate on your wonderful works.” God’s mighty deeds are revealed in His Word, creation, and our personal experiences. Meditating on these wonders lifts our faith and prepares us for life’s challenges. Just as a cow chews the cud to aid digestion, we can receive strength from God’s Word by reflecting on it regularly.

Proclaim God’s Great Deeds

David proclaims, “.. I will proclaim your great deeds” (vs 6b). What has God done for you lately? Have you shared His blessings with others, including your children? By proclaiming God’s great deeds, we inspire others to seek Him and give Him glory. As we share our testimonies, we can ignite faith in those around us, just like a spark ignites a flame.

Prayer for Daily Honor

Lord, help me to honor you every day by praising you, meditating on your works, and proclaiming your great deeds. Amen.

By incorporating these three steps into our daily lives, we can deepen our connection with God and inspire others to do the same.
