A Life of Purpose: Choosing Between Light and Darkness

As I flipped through the pages of my Bible, a quote caught my eye: “Satan is not out to give you a bad day, he wants to destroy your life.” These words struck a chord, reminding me of the eternal struggle between light and darkness, life and death.

The Thief’s Purpose

The Bible warns us that the thief’s purpose is to steal, kill, and destroy. This is the ultimate goal of Satan, the enemy of our souls. He seeks to lead us down a path of destruction, away from the light and life that God offers.

A Story of Transformation

I recall a remarkable experience from my time as a youth director. Three young men, former drug pushers, attended our Monday evening meetings. One evening, they surrendered their lives to Christ, and we witnessed a profound transformation. The Holy Spirit filled them with boldness, and they began to share their faith with others.

The Power of Choice

Their story illustrates the power of choice. We all stand at a crossroads, with two paths before us. One leads to heaven, the other to hell. There is no middle ground. We must decide which path to take, and the consequences of our choice will be eternal.

A Prayer of Commitment

If you have not yet made a conscious commitment to follow Christ, I encourage you to do so today. Don’t put it off. You can pray a simple prayer, like this:

“Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life to you and ask you to come in as my Savior and Lord. Take control of my life. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Make me the kind of person you want me to be.”

A New Beginning

When you pray this prayer, Jesus Christ will come into your life, just as He promised. Your past doesn’t have to control your future. God has a wonderful plan for your life, and it begins with a personal relationship with Him.

The Transforming Power of God

When God comes into your life, He starts to transform you from the inside out. You’ll experience complete forgiveness and a new beginning. Your life will never be the same again.

So, I ask you: what will you choose? Will you choose the light and life that God offers, or will you remain in darkness and death? The choice is yours, and the consequences will be eternal.
