The Heart of Worship

As I flung open the front door, I was met with an unforgettable sight: my granddaughter’s bright blue eyes sparkling with excitement, her face alight with a contagious grin. She leaped into my arms, wrapping her legs around my waist and showering me with kisses. In that instant, time stood still. We were lost in a world of our own, savoring the joy of being together. That, my friends, is the essence of worship.

A Deeper Connection

Worship is more than just a ritual or a Sunday morning routine. It’s about cultivating a deep, passionate connection with our heavenly Father. The Greek word “proskuneo” used in John 4:23-24 reveals the true meaning of worship: to throw kisses toward someone in reverence, respect, and adoration. Imagine greeting each new day with a heart full of worship, your spirit yearning to connect with God in a real and powerful way.

A Life of Adoration

In ancient times, people would greet those of higher rank by falling to their knees, touching their forehead to the ground, and throwing kisses toward their superior. This act of reverence was a sign of respect, homage, and devotion. As we begin each day, may our hearts be filled with a similar sense of awe and wonder. May we press our faces up to our Abba Father, locking onto Him with anticipation, and refusing to let go.

May Your Heart Be Full of Worship

My prayer for you is that you would experience this kind of worship every day. May your heart overflow with love, adoration, and reverence for our almighty and loving God. As you awaken each morning, may your spirit be drawn to Him, seeking a deeper connection that transforms your life and changes your face.
