The Power of Unwavering Trust
As a former Florida State Senator and practicing attorney, I’ve come to realize that faith is the foundation of our daily lives. It’s the underlying current that guides our decisions, even when we’re not consciously aware of it.
The Unread Manual
I recall purchasing a car last year and, like most people, I didn’t bother to read the manual. Who does, right? But I did notice a mention of “Engine Diagnostics Notification.” Little did I know, it would become a game-changer. Fast forward to a Sunday afternoon when I received an email alerting me that my tire pressure was low. I was perplexed, wondering how this information was beamed up to a satellite and then sent to me via email.
Beyond Understanding
I received another email telling me I needed an oil change. While I didn’t comprehend the technology behind it, I’ve learned that understanding isn’t always necessary to appreciate its value. After all, I don’t need to know how the internet works to send emails across the globe. This got me thinking – faith in God operates on a similar principle.
Faith in Action
Having faith isn’t about having a wish list of things we’d like to see happen. Rather, it’s the assurance that what we hope for will come to pass, and the certainty that what we can’t see exists. Faith is an unwavering belief that doesn’t require proof or evidence. We trust that our cars will run, our food is safe, and the sun will rise every morning. So, why do we often demand proof of Christianity before embracing it?
Assurance Through Jesus
Through Jesus, we have a guarantee, a confidence that surpasses human understanding. Our daily lives are filled with moments of implicit trust in God’s Word. It’s how we can gauge whether we’re living in faith. As God instructs us, we must walk by faith, not by sight, and have faith in Him.
Reflection
How much of what we do is motivated by an unwavering trust in God’s Word? Take a moment to reflect on your own life. Are you living in faith, or are there areas where you’re holding back?
