Embracing Our True Identity
As believers, we’ve been freed from the shackles of sin and welcomed into God’s family as sons and daughters. This profound truth is reiterated in Galatians 4:7, “Now we are no longer slaves, but God’s own sons. And since we are His sons, everything He has belongs to us, for that is the way God planned.” This verse reminds us that we’re no longer bound by the servitude of sin, but rather, we’re children of God, adopted into His family, and treated as such.
Living as Sons and Daughters
In our elevated position, we’re entitled to share in God’s favors and blessings. However, this privilege comes with responsibilities – not only to our heavenly Father but also to our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. As sons and daughters, we have access to all that God has, and it’s our duty to steward these resources wisely.
Obedience and Soul-Winning
While we bask in the glory of our new identity, we mustn’t forget the call to obedience. Jesus’ invitation remains clear: “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:18-20). As we follow our Lord, we’re transformed into soul-winners, naturally sharing the gospel with those around us. This doesn’t mean being overly aggressive or intrusive; rather, it means being available for the Holy Spirit to work through us in every conversation.
Prayer and Preparation
To effectively live out our faith, we must prioritize prayer and preparation. Being “prayed up” and free from unconfessed sin allows us to tap into the power of the Holy Spirit, enabling us to live a supernatural life for God’s glory.
Today’s Action Point
With the power of the Holy Spirit available to me by faith, I will embody the characteristics of a child of the King – a son of the Most High. I will live a life that honors God, and I will share the good news of the gospel with those around me.
