Finding God’s Will: A Path to Supernatural Living and Clear Direction

Seeking God’s Guidance: A Path to Supernatural Living

As we navigate the complexities of life, we often find ourselves at crossroads, unsure of which direction to take. The Bible offers us a timeless wisdom in Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths” (KJV).

The Dangers of the “Closed-Door Policy”

A young seminary graduate once sought my counsel as he explored various opportunities for Christian service. He shared with me his approach to discerning God’s will, which he called the “closed-door policy.” He had investigated several options, and since the Lord had seemingly closed the door on all but two, he believed that God was leading him towards one of those remaining options. While this approach may seem logical, it often leads to frustration and unsatisfactory results.

A Flawed Approach

The “closed-door policy” relies too heavily on chance and neglects the careful evaluation of all factors involved. It’s an illogical and unscriptural approach that fails to utilize our God-given faculties of reason, which are controlled by the Holy Spirit. This method can lead us down a path of uncertainty, rather than one of clarity and confidence.

Trusting God for Clear Direction

Instead, we should adopt the “open-door policy” outlined in Proverbs 3:5-6. This approach involves trusting God with our whole heart, acknowledging Him in all our ways, and seeking His guidance through prayerful evaluation of all factors. By doing so, we can experience supernatural living, where God directs our paths and leads us to His perfect will.

Seeking Guidance in Uncertain Times

Are you facing a difficult decision or seeking guidance in a particular area of your life? Have you asked God to direct your paths? Remember, God’s provision for supernatural living is available to us all. By trusting in Him and acknowledging His sovereignty, we can experience the joy and peace that comes from following His will.
