Seeking the Heart of God
Have you ever felt like you’re searching for something more in your faith journey? You’ve prayed to receive Jesus, but you’re not sure if anything has really changed. You’re not alone. I’ve been there too.
A Deeper Connection
I remember when I first prayed to receive Jesus. I didn’t feel any different either. But then I started reading the Bible, and that’s when I truly met Jesus. Day by day, I experienced joy and peace flooding my heart. But feelings can be fleeting, and soon I faced fear and doubt. That’s when I learned to walk by faith, not by emotions.
God’s Unwavering Presence
In those uncertain times, I had to remind myself that God’s presence is not dependent on my feelings. He promised, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). Even when my emotions were in turmoil, God was still with me. Through His Word, I discovered my true identity as a beloved child of God, and that brought me comfort and peace.
Seeking God, Not an Experience
So, how do we seek God with all our hearts? We need to look for Him in the right places. We can find Him in the pages of the Bible, in the fellowship of church and Bible study, in the beauty of nature, and in the stillness of prayer. When we make God central in our lives, amazing things happen. Life becomes full and exciting.
A Heartfelt Pursuit
The Bible says, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13-14). This isn’t about chasing an emotional high; it’s about pursuing a deep, meaningful relationship with God. He’s not playing hide-and-seek with us. He created us for fellowship with Himself.
Trusting God More
Thank you, Father, for wanting us to know You. Help me to trust You more, even when my emotions are uncertain. Amen.
