The Unmistakable Mark of a God-Seeker
When someone has spent quality time with God, it’s evident in their demeanor. A deep sense of calm and peace radiates from their being, much like the gentle dew of heaven. Unfortunately, this is a rare occurrence in today’s church services, where we often prioritize information over intimacy with God.
Beyond Religious Routine
We attend sermons, participate in fellowship, and engage in ministry training, but how often do we truly seek God? We may honor Him with our words, but do we genuinely draw near to Him? It’s essential to recognize that religious indoctrination is not the same as seeking God. Even godly entertainment, such as Christian music, cannot replace our personal worship encounters with Him.
Creating Space for the Divine
Let’s ask ourselves: Do we set aside dedicated time to seek God in our spiritual lives? Are we willing to make room for Him in our worship services, even if it means deviating from our scheduled programs? While order and structure are necessary, we mustn’t forget to prioritize the presence of God Himself.
The Transformation of Seeking
When we first begin to seek God, we may not notice immediate changes. However, the mere act of seeking Him is a crucial step towards transformation. As we grow more aware of God, we become less aware of ourselves, and others will likely notice the change in us before we do. Consider the example of Moses, whose face shone with God’s glory after ascending Mount Sinai.
A Church That Reflects God’s Glory
The church needs more individuals who have, like Moses, encountered the Almighty. Instead of arguing over peripheral doctrines or musical styles, we should focus on seeking the reality of God. Our ultimate goal is to draw nearer to Him, day by day, and to receive the help we need from His throne of grace.
Confidence in Christ
We can approach God’s throne with confidence, knowing that He has promised to respond to our seeking. As we persevere through natural and spiritual obstacles, we can expect unfolding degrees of intimacy with God. Even now, He is drawing near to us, promising that everyone who seeks will find.
A Lifetime of Devotion
May our heart’s desire be to possess more of God, and may we continually seek Him with all our hearts. As we do, we can expect to experience a lifetime of increasing devotion, marked by an unmistakable radiance that reflects the glory of God.
