The Timeless Nature of Christ
Eternal Throne, Eternal Love
The Bible declares that Christ’s throne will last forever and ever (Psalm 45:6). This profound truth reveals the everlasting nature of our Lord Jesus Christ. The baby born in Bethlehem was united with the eternal Word, through whom all things were made (John 1:1-3). This same Christ revealed Himself to John in Patmos as the one “who is, and who was, and who is to come” (Revelation 1:4).
The Unchanging Savior
If Christ were not the everlasting God, we could not love Him with such devotion. We could not experience the eternal love that flows directly from God’s fountain of blessing. But since He is eternally with the Father, we can trace the stream of divine love to Himself, equally with His Father and the blessed Holy Spirit.
A Living Intercessor
Our Lord always was, and so He is forever. Jesus is not dead; “He ever liveth to make intercession for us” (Hebrews 7:25, KJV). In times of distress, abide in Him, for He is waiting to bless you. His cleansing fountain will never run out, and His precious blood will never lose its power.
Eternal Comfort and Joy
When your life reaches its final battle, you will find that the hand of your battle Captain has not grown feeble. The living Savior will cheer you even to your last breath. In heaven, you will find Him there, and through eternity, the Lord Jesus will remain the enduring spring of joy, life, and glory to His people.
Draw from the Sacred Well
Jesus always was, is, and always will be. He is eternal in His attributes, position, power, and willingness to bless, comfort, guard, and crown all His people. What does this profound truth mean for you and me? It means that God will always take care of us, and we can rely on His eternal love and presence.
Reflecting on Eternity
As we contemplate the timeless nature of Christ, we are reminded of the boundless greatness of our God. His eternal throne, love, and power inspire us to draw closer to Him, seeking comfort, guidance, and joy in His enduring presence.
