The Only Road to God
Have you ever heard someone say, “Believe what you want, and I’ll believe what I want. We just need to be good and treat people nice”? It sounds reasonable, but let’s dig deeper. When someone claims that all roads lead to God, where did they get this information? The truth is, they’re simply sharing their faith, just like you are.
The Problem with Multiple Roads
The issue is, all these “roads to heaven” can’t be true at the same time. Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Judaism all have different requirements for achieving their version of heaven. But Christianity stands out – it’s not about what we do, but about what Jesus has already done. Jesus is the only road to God, as he said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).
Why Jesus is the Only Way
So, why is salvation only through Jesus? It’s because only Jesus is both fully God and fully human. He’s not half God and half man. As a true God-man, Jesus could take our place, die for our sins, and live a sinless life. If he weren’t human, he couldn’t have died, and if he weren’t God, he wouldn’t have been a perfect substitute.
The Plan of Salvation
But how do we know that Jesus’s plan actually worked? Did his death really pay for our sins? The Bible says yes! Jesus explained his plan in advance, saying, “For even the Son of Man came… to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45). And when he died, the Father raised him from the dead, declaring that Jesus’s payment for sin was accepted.
The Resurrection: Proof of Salvation
The resurrection is the key to understanding salvation. It shows that Jesus’s death paid for every sin, and the Father’s acceptance of that payment means we can be confident in our salvation. As Acts 17:31 says, God “has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.” Through Jesus’s death and resurrection, our sins were truly, completely, and eternally paid for.
The Evidence of the Resurrection
But are we sure the resurrection really happened? The tomb was empty, and despite claims that the body was stolen, the eyewitnesses – including women, who were not considered reliable in that time – testified to seeing Jesus alive. The evidence points to one conclusion: Jesus rose from the dead, proving that he is the only true way to salvation.
