The Secret to Unwavering Spiritual Strength
In a world where exhaustion can be a constant companion, it’s easy to forget that our spiritual vitality is not meant to be drained by good deeds alone. Even the most well-intentioned efforts can leave us feeling depleted if we’re not replenishing ourselves in God’s presence. The Bible warns us that in the end times, the enemy will attempt to “wear down the saints of the Highest One” (Daniel 7:25). But God never intended for us to carry out His will without His empowering presence.
The Power of Prayer and Intimacy
The key to accomplishing God’s purpose lies in prayer and intimacy with Christ. It’s in these quiet moments, closed in with God, that we discover an ever-replenishing flow of spiritual virtue. This is where our strength is renewed, our hearts are refreshed, and our souls are revitalized.
A Personal Journey of Weariness
I remember the early days of my ministry, when I consecrated my mornings to God. Those hours spent in prayer, worship, and studying His Word were the highlight of my day. I would often worship God for hours, pouring out my heart in song and basking in His loving presence. But as my ministry grew, so did the demands on my time. I began to cut corners, sacrificing precious moments with God to accommodate the needs of others. Before long, I found myself in a thriving ministry, but with a dwindling anointing to sustain it.
A Wake-Up Call
One day, an intercessor shared a dream he had about me, in which the Lord simply said, “Tell Francis I miss him.” Those words pierced my heart, and I realized the weight of my neglect. I had been so focused on serving others that I had forgotten to prioritize my time with Jesus. I repented, readjusted my priorities, and reclaimed my mornings for God. To my surprise, my congregation applauded my decision, eager to follow a leader who prioritized their relationship with God.
A Lesson for the Ages
As we move forward in these uncertain times, our primary focus must be on ministering to Christ. We will face increased pressures, but we must position ourselves in God’s presence, continually seeking His guidance and empowerment. To miss our time with Jesus is to miss His glory in the day of His presence. May we cultivate the fragrance of Jesus in secret, that it may manifest through us the knowledge of Him in every place.
