Finding Courage in the Face of Fear
As a pastor, I’ve seen countless people struggle with fear. It’s a universal human emotion that can be overwhelming and debilitating. But as Christians, we have a unique perspective on fear. We know that God is with us, and that He has given us a spirit of power, love, and self-discipline.
The Future is Now
One of the main reasons we fear is because of the unknown. We worry about what might happen in the future, and we let that uncertainty control our lives. But God sees the future differently. To Him, the future is now. He knows everything that will happen, and He is already working to bring about good in our lives.
Letting God Love Us
So how do we face our fears? First, we need to let God love us in the midst of our fear. Imagine being wrapped in God’s arms, feeling His warmth and comfort. Imagine hearing His gentle voice whispering words of encouragement and peace. This is what it means to let God love us.
Moving Ahead with Courage
Courage is not the absence of fear; it’s moving ahead despite our fear. When we let God love us, we gain the courage to face our fears head-on. We can say with confidence, “The Lord is with me, I will not be afraid; what can man do to me?” (Psalm 118:6).
Surrendering to God
If you’re struggling with fear, I encourage you to surrender your life to God. He is the only one who can truly give you peace and courage in the face of uncertainty. You can start by praying a simple prayer, like this:
“Lord Jesus, I want to trust you from now on. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive you as my Savior and Lord. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life, and make me the person you want me to be. Thank you for enabling me to trust you in these uncertain times.”
A New Perspective
When we surrender to God, we gain a new perspective on fear. We see that it’s not something to be feared, but something to be faced with courage and confidence. We know that God is with us, and that He will never leave us or forsake us.
Conclusion
Fear is a natural human emotion, but it doesn’t have to control our lives. When we let God love us and surrender to Him, we gain the courage to face our fears and live with confidence. Remember, the future is now, and God is already working to bring about good in our lives. So let’s face our fears with courage and trust in God’s goodness.
