The Humble Nature of God
Imagine walking through a bustling shopping mall, surrounded by people from all walks of life. Suddenly, you notice a figure that blends in seamlessly with the crowd. No flashy clothes, no extravagant jewelry – just an ordinary person, easy to overlook. Yet, this individual is none other than Jesus, the Son of God.
A Relatable Deity
Jesus was touchable, approachable, and reachable. He embodied the phrase “The Word became flesh” (John 1:14, NKJV). If you invited him to watch a game at your house, he’d gladly accept. He’d playfully wrestle with your kids, take a nap on your couch, and even cook steaks on your grill. His laughter would ring out at your jokes, and he’d share some of his own. When you spoke, he’d listen intently, as if time stood still.
A Friend to All
What’s striking about Jesus is his humility. He wouldn’t draw attention to himself; instead, he’d focus on you. He’d listen to your concerns, your hopes, and your fears. You’d feel valued, heard, and understood in his presence. And when the evening drew to a close, you’d undoubtedly invite him back, eager to share more moments with this extraordinary, yet ordinary, friend.
A God Who Cares
Jesus’ approachability is a testament to his love for humanity. He didn’t come to impress or intimidate; he came to connect, to care, and to redeem. As we reflect on his life and teachings, we’re reminded that God is not a distant, unapproachable figure, but a loving Father who desires a personal relationship with each of us.
