Rediscovering the Heart of the Gospel
In an era where politics, family values, and culture wars dominate the conversation, the true essence of the Gospel has become obscured. We’ve lost sight of the fact that it’s all about Jesus. Ask someone on the street what it means to be a Christian, and you’ll likely hear a lot about everything except Jesus and the cross.
The Power of Simplicity
Our message, from start to finish, is Jesus – who he was, what he said, and what he did. This simplicity is what fueled the last great revival in this country, the “Jesus movement” of the 1970s. It was a movement that transcended politics and religion, focusing solely on Jesus. He was the ultimate rebel, rejecting the establishment and embracing a counter-cultural lifestyle that resonated with a generation of young people.
A Personal Message
Our mission is to share this person with the world. God created us to belong to him, but we wandered away. Jesus is the way back. This message is personal, non-threatening, and all about building a meaningful relationship with God through a meaningful relationship with Jesus. There’s no baggage, no complicated theology – just a simple, yet powerful, message of love and redemption.
Getting Back to Basics
We’ve added a lot of extras to this message over the years, but it’s time to strip it back to its essence. If our actions and beliefs make us more loving to our neighbors, then they’re worth holding onto. But if they drive us further apart, then it’s time to reevaluate. At the end of the day, it’s all about Jesus. He came to save us, unite us, and teach us to love one another.
What Sets Jesus Apart?
So, what makes Jesus and his message different from every other religious teacher? It’s a question worth asking, and one that gets to the heart of what it means to be a Christian. Perhaps it’s time to refocus on the simplicity and power of the Gospel, and let Jesus be the central figure in our lives once again.
