From Darkness to Light: A Survivor’s Journey to Faith and Triumph

Finding Hope in the Darkest of Times

A Childhood Marred by Abuse

Victoria Johnson’s life was forever changed when she was just eight years old. Repeatedly abused by her own father, she became one of the staggering 39 million survivors of sexual abuse in the United States.

A Turning Point

In high school, Victoria found solace in the school choir. It was there that God brought a friend into her life, the daughter of a local pastor. One fateful Sunday, the pastor invited the choir to sing at his church, and Victoria’s life began to transform. The words of God’s scripture brought comfort to her troubled heart, and she prayed, inviting Christ into her life. This marked the beginning of her journey from survivor to overcomer.

The Power of Faith

As Victoria surrendered to God, she experienced a profound transformation. The old gave way to the new, and she began to find strength in her faith. The Bible’s promise in Isaiah 41:10 echoed in her heart: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

A Ministry Born

Victoria’s experience inspired her to found PICI, Protecting Innocent Children, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to supporting sexually abused children and their families. She also authored “Children and Sexual Abuse,” a testament to her commitment to helping others heal.

A Message of Hope

Victoria’s story serves as a beacon of hope for those who have suffered similar trauma. Her courage and faith remind us that even in the darkest of times, God is present, offering strength and guidance. As Isaiah 41:13 reminds us, “For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you.’”
