When Plans Fall Apart
Have you ever felt like your whole world has come crashing down around you? Susan certainly did. She had been called by God to become a nurse on the mission field, and she had taken a leap of faith, quitting her job and enrolling in school full-time. At first, everything seemed to be falling into place. But then, disaster struck. She discovered she needed an additional $400 for school expenses, and she had only three days to come up with it. The uncertainty was overwhelming.
A Crisis of Faith
Susan was devastated. She didn’t feel like praying, and her heart was filled with sadness and doubt. But she knew she had to confess her attitude to God and ask for a change of heart. She thanked Him for being a loving and sovereign God, even when she couldn’t feel His presence.
The Power of Faith
In a remarkable turn of events, God provided the necessary funds in full, just 24 hours later. Susan learned a valuable lesson that day: where God guides, He provides. When we commit our time and resources to His glory, He honors and rewards us.
A Promise to Hold Onto
As the apostle Paul reminds us in Philippians 4:19, “This same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.” (NLT) This promise is a beacon of hope in times of uncertainty, a reminder that God is always in control, even when our plans fall apart.
