Embracing the Unwavering Faithfulness of God
When it comes to our relationship with God, we often focus on our own efforts to prove our devotion. We try to earn His love and approval, but this approach is misguided. God’s love is not something we can earn; it’s a gift that’s freely given, regardless of our faithfulness.
A Love That Never Falters
Unlike us, God is faithful even when our faith wavers. We’re prone to chasing after other loves in this world, just like Gomer in the story of Hosea. But God remains steadfast, always ready to welcome us back with open arms. He demonstrated this unwavering commitment on the cross, paying the price for our sins that we couldn’t pay ourselves.
A Promise to Never Leave
God’s word is true: “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged” (Deuteronomy 31:8). When we stumble or find our hearts straying, we can rest assured that God is faithful and desires intimacy with us. So, let’s turn to Him, trust in Him, and surrender all to Him.
A Heartfelt Prayer
Who else can we count on to be as faithful as God? Lord, thank You for being so faithful. Please heal my wandering heart. Strengthen my faith and make me steadfast in my pursuit of You. Amen.
