Finding Refuge in the Lord’s Love
A powerful biblical truth reminds us that “the name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe” (Proverbs 18:10). This was a lesson Janice would soon learn in a profound way.
Running from God
Janice thought she could escape God’s presence by leaving home and starting college. She deliberately avoided anything related to faith, even declining an invitation to a campus Bible study. Her new roommates, foreign exchange students with limited English, only added to her feelings of loneliness.
A Turning Point
One day, while cleaning her dorm room, Janice stumbled upon the Bible study invitation she had previously dismissed. With nothing to lose, she decided to attend. What she experienced that day left her utterly overwhelmed – not by the study itself, but by the depth of God’s love that was shared.
A Life-Changing Encounter
Janice was deeply moved by the love of God and responded by inviting Jesus into her life through prayer. This marked a significant turning point for her. As she surrendered to God’s love, He began to transform her from the inside out.
A New Purpose
When Janice returned home, God used her to initiate a ministry on her college campus. This was a remarkable testament to the power of God’s love to redeem and restore.
A Message of Hope
Dear friend, remember that God’s love is never far away. Make yourself available to Him, and He will use you to minister to others. His love can transform even the most wayward heart, just as it did for Janice.
