Finding Peace in Turbulent Times
As I reflect on my daily interactions with students, I’m reminded of the importance of cultivating inner peace. In my role, I strive to provide guidance and support, but I also need to prioritize my own well-being. During lunch breaks, I seek solace in nature, walking around the lake and soaking up the serenity of the surroundings. Today, I was struck by the sight of a swan family, with the father’s watchful gaze fixed on me as I passed by.
A Lesson from Nature
The swan’s protective instincts are a powerful reminder of the importance of feeling safe and secure. The six cygnets paddled and foraged with ease, knowing they were under their parents’ care. In contrast, many people struggle with fear and anxiety, unsure of how to achieve their goals or overcome obstacles. As I watch my students grow and develop, I’m reminded of God’s desire to free us from fear and empower us to live with confidence.
God’s Brooding Presence
The Bible reminds us that God is our help and shield, our steadfast love and hope (Psalm 33:20-22). Through the power of the Holy Spirit and the grace of Jesus, God broods over us, watching over us with a loving eye. As Luke 12:32 says, “Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” God’s presence brings us peace, calming our fears and reassuring us of His love.
A Prayer for Peace
Dear Lord, we rejoice and praise Your Name. You brood over us, loving us despite our flaws and weaknesses. Forgive us when we lose our nerve and forget Your purpose in our lives. Grant us a deeper awareness of Your brooding presence and peace, in the Name of Jesus, amen.
