The Omnipresent God: A Promise of Divine Presence
In the midst of our daily lives, it’s easy to feel disconnected from God. But what if we could experience His presence in a tangible way? According to Matthew 18:20, when two or three gather in His name, Jesus promises to be right there among them.
A Universal Promise
This remarkable promise isn’t limited to a specific time or place. Whether it’s a small group of friends meeting in a living room or a congregation of hundreds gathering in a church, Jesus is present. Simultaneously, He is also with believers in Africa, Israel, China, and every corner of the globe. This universal promise underscores the omnipresent nature of God and His Son, Jesus Christ.
Omniscient, Omnipotent, and Omnipresent
The Bible reminds us that God is all-knowing, all-powerful, and everywhere present at the same time. This awe-inspiring truth should fill our hearts with joy and wonder. Imagine believers from diverse cultures and backgrounds – the Masai tribe in Kenya, the Quechua Indians in Ecuador – gathering in Jesus’ name, and He is right there among them.
A Personal Encounter
But this promise isn’t just for missionaries, church leaders, or large groups. When you and one or two friends meet together in His name, Jesus is present with you as well. You can sense His presence, especially when you acknowledge His existence and begin to worship Him for who He is.
Inviting God’s Presence
Today, take a moment to reflect on the significance of Jesus’ promise. Look for opportunities to invoke His presence in your life by fellowshipping with other believers in His name. As you do, remember that God and Jesus Christ, who meet with believers around the world, are also meeting with you – right now, in this moment.
