Discovering Your True Worth in God’s Eyes

Uncovering Our True Worth

As we gaze up at the starry night sky, we can’t help but ponder our place in the grand scheme of things. The psalmist asks, “What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?” (Psalm 8:3-5, NIV). This question echoes through the ages, a reminder that our value lies not in our earthly accomplishments, but in the heart of God.

The Invisible Staff Member

Sarah, a member of the church’s housekeeping staff, felt like an invisible entity. As she went about her duties, the secretarial staff seemed to deliberately avoid her. She was left feeling worthless, a second-class citizen in the eyes of her colleagues. But then, something changed.

A Chance Encounter

Linda, a fellow staff member, noticed Sarah’s isolation and decided to take action. During a staff prayer meeting, she drew attention to Sarah’s remarkable talent – a beautiful painting she had just completed. The response was overwhelming. The secretarial staff, moved by Linda’s words, apologized and showered Sarah with hugs.

A Shift in Perspective

Through Linda’s intervention, Sarah began to see herself in a new light. She realized that her worth didn’t come from her job title or the opinions of others, but from the very heart of God. This epiphany transformed her, reminding her that she was valuable, not because of what she did, but because of whose she was.

A Message of Hope

Friend, remember that your value is not defined by your occupation, social status, or accomplishments. Christ died for the marginalized, the outcasts, and the influential alike. Your worth is rooted in God’s love, a love that sees beyond our earthly limitations and celebrates our unique contributions.
