Discovering the Depths of God’s Character
As we embark on a journey to understand our Good Shepherd, we find ourselves drawn to the timeless wisdom of Psalm 23. This beloved passage invites us to experience God’s presence in a deeply personal way. Ask God to reveal Himself to you through this psalm, and listen for the whispers of His heart.
The Shepherd’s Care
Jesus, the Good Shepherd, knows us by name (John 10:11). He tends to our every need, just as a shepherd inspects and cares for his sheep. Thank Him for His intimate relationship with you. Pray for others who may feel forgotten or discouraged, that they may know God as their Shepherd.
The Provider’s Abundance
Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord our Provider, meets our spiritual and practical needs. Pray for daily bread (Matthew 6:11) and thank Him for His provision. Intercede for those struggling financially or discontent with their circumstances, that they may know Jehovah-Jireh.
The Source of Peace
Jehovah-Shalom, the God of peace, calms our fears and doubts. Pray about anything disquieting your peace, affirming that God is your peace. Intercede for others in difficult situations, asking God to calm their fears and worries with His presence.
The Healer’s Touch

The Righteous One
Jehovah-Tsidkenu, the Lord our Righteousness, guides us on paths of righteousness. Pray for God’s guidance and dedication to follow Him as Lord. Intercede for those who need salvation, that they may receive Jesus as God’s perfect sacrifice for their sin.
The Holy One
Jehovah-M’Kaddesh, God’s holy name, calls us to bring glory and honor to Him. Pray that you will not dishonor His name and intercede for those who are away from God, that they may desire to bring glory to His holy name.
The Ever-Present One
Jehovah-Shammah, God who is always there, promises His presence in our lives. Affirm His presence, dispelling fears and unbelief. Pray for others to experience God’s powerful presence in their lives.
The Comforter
The rod and staff of our Good Shepherd bring comfort and protection. Receive His comfort and pray for others to experience His tender care.
The Victor
Jehovah-Nissi, the Lord our Banner of victory, gives us victory over our enemies and sins. Praise God for His authority and pray for others to experience His victorious power.
The Anointer
The oil of the Holy Spirit symbolizes healing, restoration, and fellowship. Thank God for the power of the Holy Spirit and pray for others to walk in His guidance.
The Giver of Abundance
Exercise gratitude for God’s goodness and love. Pray for others to praise God continually as their Source.
The Eternal Dwelling
