Unlocking Your God-Given Potential: A Spiritual Guide for 2019

Embracing Your God-Given Gifts in 2019

As we step into a brand new year, it’s essential to reflect on our spiritual journey and the incredible gifts God has bestowed upon us. The Bible reminds us, “Each of you has been blessed with one (or more) of God’s many wonderful gifts to be used in the service of others.” (1 Peter 4:10-11, CEV) It’s time to harness these gifts to make a meaningful impact in our world.

Reassessing Our Spiritual Walk

A thought-provoking question has lingered in my mind: “If I keep doing what I’m doing now, will I be where I want to be in one year, five years, or ten years?” This question prompts us to examine our spiritual growth and identify areas that require adjustments. Are we utilizing our God-given gifts to make a difference? Are there changes we need to make to align our actions with our spiritual goals?

Reflecting on Our Lives

To help us focus on our spiritual growth, consider the following aspects of our lives:

  • Physical
  • Relational/Family
  • Financial
  • Spiritual
  • Intellectual
  • Professional

Setting Goals and Accountability

Experience has taught me that clear, scheduled goals with accountability significantly increase the chances of success. I challenge you to pray through each of these areas, set specific goals, and incorporate them into your daily routine. Find a way to hold yourself accountable, whether through a journal, a friend, or a mentor.

A Prayer for Guidance

As we embark on this journey, let’s pray together: “Lord, I want to reach new heights this year and glorify You. Would You show me where You want my focus to be? Help me to choose well and to be a proper representation of You this year. Thank You for fresh beginnings. Amen.”

The Power of Fresh Beginnings

In 2019, Christ is waiting to help us make a difference in our world. Let’s seize this opportunity to glorify Him and use our gifts to serve others. What will your answers be to these questions? Will you take the first step towards a more purpose-driven life?
