Catching Our Attention
As I drove down the road, a series of signs caught my eye. “Are… You… Thinking… About…” Each word was plastered on a separate sign, building suspense with every passing mile. But it wasn’t until I reached the fifth sign that I got my answer – Botox cosmetics. Not exactly what I was expecting.
The Power of Our Thoughts
But the question lingered: what was I thinking about? Was it something true, honest, and pure, as Scripture encourages us to focus on? (Philippians 4:8) Or was it something more worldly, something that could lead me astray?
Staying Sober-Minded
The Bible reminds us to “be sober,” not in the sense of avoiding fun, but in the sense of staying mindful of our thoughts. We must “gird up the loins” of our minds, rejecting wrong thoughts and opting for right ones. We have the power to determine what’s on our minds.
Guarding Our Thoughts
So, what are we thinking about? Are we meditating on eternal truth, or are we allowing worldly suggestions to influence our thoughts? By guarding our minds and focusing on what’s truly important, we can experience a transformation that will leave a lasting impact.
A Life-Changing Renewal
As we renew our minds, we’ll start to notice a change within ourselves. We’ll become more mindful of our thoughts, more intentional about what we focus on. And that’s when the real transformation begins. (Romans 12:2)
A Prayer for Purity
Father, purify our minds by Your grace. Keep us mindful of thoughts we’re not ashamed to share with You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
