Surrendering to Success: Putting God at the Center of Your Plans

Seeking Success? Start with Surrender

When it comes to achieving our goals, it’s easy to get caught up in our own plans and ambitions. But what if we’re going about it the wrong way? What if the key to success lies not in our own efforts, but in surrendering our plans to a higher power?

A Shift in Perspective

The Bible reminds us that “committing our work to the Lord” is the first step towards establishing our plans (Proverbs 16:3). This verse isn’t suggesting that God is a rubber stamp for our ideas, but rather that He should be at the center of everything we do. When we prioritize God, we acknowledge that He is the ultimate authority and that our success is not solely dependent on our own abilities.

Our Role in the Equation

While God is ultimately in control, we still have a vital role to play. We must use our God-given talents, resources, and strengths to work towards our goals. This means putting in the effort to create thoughtful, wise plans and trusting that God will guide us along the way.

Trusting in God’s Timing

So, what happens when we hit roadblocks or experience setbacks? It’s easy to get discouraged and wonder if we’re on the right path. But perhaps the question we should be asking is: Have we truly committed our plans to God? Are we trusting in His perfect timing, even when things don’t go as planned?

A Prayer for Guidance

As we navigate the ups and downs of life, let’s remember to seek God’s guidance and wisdom. May we pray with humility and sincerity: “God, I don’t want to run ahead of You and plan my own life without Your involvement. I choose to put You at the center again today. Give me the wisdom to plan effectively and the strength to work hard for Your glory, amen.”

By surrendering our plans to God and trusting in His sovereignty, we can experience a deeper sense of purpose and fulfillment. So, let’s commit our work to the Lord and watch as He establishes our plans in His perfect timing.
