My parents had to make a difficult decision, informing us that we wouldn’t be receiving gifts that year due to financial constraints. I accepted their decision, understanding the sacrifices they had to make. However, on Christmas morning, we were all surprised to find gifts waiting for us. My dad had sold part of his milk quota to make it possible. The blue taffeta dress I received was more than just a gift – it symbolized the love and sacrifice of my parents.
