Sparking a Global Movement of Encouragement

The Power of Encouragement in a Global Community

As a devotional writer, I’ve had the privilege of sharing my thoughts with a global audience for nearly two decades. What started as a small ministry for my Bible fellowship class has grown into a weekly newsletter that reaches thousands of people across six continents. I’m constantly humbled by the feedback I receive from individuals I’ve never met, yet whose lives I’ve touched in some way.

A Global Reach

One of my most loyal readers is Stephen from Bangalore, India, who writes to me every week. His kind words are a constant source of encouragement to me. Then there was the note I received from a new Christian in Kenya, who was struggling to lead his village’s weekly Bible study. He found inspiration in my writings and was able to share them with his community. It’s astounding to think that, in this digital age, I can sit at my desk and reach the most remote corners of the world, all for the glory of Jesus.

The Humility of Ministry

I’m deeply grateful for this opportunity to serve others through my writing. My goal is simple: to encourage others in their faith, and in turn, be encouraged by them. Encouragement is a powerful force that can transform lives and communities.

The Simple Act of Encouragement

So, what does it take to encourage someone? Not much, really. A kind word, a heartfelt note, a public acknowledgment of someone’s hard work – these small acts can have a profound impact on those around us. As the writer of Hebrews reminds us, “Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works… encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:24-25)

Stirring Up Love and Good Works

Encouraging others is a way to stir them up to love and perform good works. In a world that often seeks to tear us down, this is a powerful antidote. By encouraging someone today, you’ll not only make their day but also experience the joy of giving.

A Ripple Effect of Kindness

So, take a moment to drop a note, send an email, or publicly praise someone. These small acts of kindness can create a ripple effect of encouragement that spreads far and wide. As you do, be prepared to receive back even more, and bask in the warmth of a community that uplifts and inspires one another.
