Showcasing God’s Masterpiece: Living Faithfully in a Broken World

Reflecting God’s Masterpiece

As followers of Christ, we’re called to live among unbelievers in a way that showcases God’s glory. As Peter reminds us in 1 Peter 2:12, our honorable behavior can lead others to give honor to God, even if they accuse us of wrongdoing.

A Chance Encounter

I still remember the unexpected question a woman asked me after a meeting: “Who cuts your hair?” Her comment, “It looks like her work,” sparked a thought-provoking reflection on God’s handiwork in my life. Just as my hairdresser’s skills are evident in my hairstyle, I wondered if God’s work in me is equally visible.

God’s Ongoing Creation

We’re not only created by God, but He continues to shape and refine us. Moreover, He commissions us to replicate His work in the lives of others. The question lingers: Can people see God’s handiwork in me? Am I living out my faith in a way that showcases the Creator God?

Living Faithfully Amidst Persecution

The Apostle Peter wrote to early Christians facing increasing persecution. Instead of urging them to preach about their faith, he encouraged them to live honorably among their unbelieving neighbors. This way, God would be glorified, and His work would be evident in their lives.

Revealing God’s Work

As I reflect on my own life, I pray: “Father, how often is your work in me hidden? Help me reveal your work, ‘your life’ in my actions and words.” May our lives be a testament to God’s masterpiece, inspiring others to give honor to Him.
