Prioritizing Intimacy with God: The Heart of True Worship

The Heart of True Worship

God’s deepest desire is to have a people who crave intimacy with Him, who yearn to experience the fullness of His presence. He longs for believers who are not satisfied with mere salvation, but instead, desire to know Him deeply, to be captivated by His love, and to surrender their lives to Him.

Beyond Eternal Security

When we are in love, we desire to please our beloved above all else. We joyfully submit to their will, and this is the essence of commitment and surrender. God values our relationship with Him more than any service we can offer. He is more interested in shaping us into the people He desires us to be than in what we can do for Him.

The Two Courts

In the Old Testament, the Levites ministered to the people in the outer court of the temple, while the sons of Zadok, the Levitical priests, tended to the inner sanctuary, drawing near to God. This distinction highlights the importance of prioritizing our relationship with God. As believers, we need to focus on ministering to God in the inner court before serving others.

Intimacy with Jesus

The moment Jesus died on the cross, the veil of the holy of holies was torn apart, granting every believer access to the inner court. This privilege allows us to boldly enter into the presence of God, to praise, worship, adore, and glorify Him. Inner-court ministry is not reserved for church leaders; it is the birthright of every believer.

The Power of Inner-Court Ministry

Ministering to others without first ministering to God will not yield lasting fruit. To truly serve others, we must wait on God in the inner sanctuary, surrendering ourselves to Him. When we do, His Spirit flows freely through us, transforming the lives of those around us. The need of the hour is for believers to prioritize their relationship with God, to be priests in the inner court.

God’s Desire for You

God yearns to visit you powerfully, to convict, woo, love, proclaim truth, reconcile, and glorify Himself. Intimacy with the risen Christ is the top priority. By ministering to God in praise, worship, and communion, we allow His presence and power to flow through us, bringing glory to His name. Inner-court ministry is the key to seeing God’s works manifest in our lives, our families, and our churches.
