Embracing a Biblical Worldview in a Challenging Culture
As followers of Jesus, we are called to live according to God’s principles, even when they contradict the values of our society. In North America, our worldview will undoubtedly be tested, but it’s precisely this perspective that can have a profound impact on our future.
A Perspective Rooted in God’s Word
Our worldview is founded on a deep trust in the Lord and a commitment to His Word, the Bible. This shapes our understanding of the world and informs our decisions. As Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
Valuing Life and Living with Purpose
Take, for instance, our stance on the value of life. We believe that every life, from the unborn to the elderly, has inherent worth because God values it. This conviction guides our actions and decisions, setting us apart from the prevailing cultural norms.
Living Out Our Faith
As Christians, it’s our duty to share our worldview with others, influencing those around us with the love and truth of God. We must intentionally live out our faith, recognizing that everything we do, say, and think should be filtered through the lens of Scripture. As Pastor Bill Malick so eloquently put it, “Seeing all we have and all we are as temporal and having value only as they are used for what they were intended… for God’s glory.”
A Call to Action
Will you join me in embracing a biblical worldview, even when it’s challenging? Let’s commit to living out our faith with purpose and passion, seeking to honor God in every aspect of our lives. As Peggi Bontekoe so succinctly stated, “My definition includes putting absolutely everything I do, read, watch, or hear through a grid of asking myself if it is pleasing to God and complies with the Bible.”
