Unlocking God’s Unlimited Power: Trusting in His Sovereignty

The Unlimited Possibilities of Faith

God’s Sovereignty Over All

The Bible reminds us that God is the ultimate owner of everything. As Psalm 50:10 declares, “For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.” This powerful truth has significant implications for our lives as believers.

Asking for the Best

Dr. A.W. Tozer once gently rebuked a Christian worker for praying for a second-hand car to serve the Lord. Tozer’s wise words still resonate today: “God owns the cattle on a thousand hills, and the Cadillacs, too. Why not ask Him for the best?” This principle can be applied to various areas of our lives. If we genuinely believe that our faith determines our outcomes, then shouldn’t we trust God for greater things than we normally would?

The Importance of Motive

When asking God for something, our motive is crucial. If our request is driven by a desire to glorify God and serve Him, then our motivation is pure. However, if pride or self-interest is involved, we should reconsider our request. We must remember that everything we possess belongs to God, and He has never given us absolute ownership over anything.

God’s Right to Intervene

God has the right to do as He pleases with what belongs to Him. When He takes away something precious or intervenes in our lives, He is not infringing on our rights. Instead, He is exercising His sovereignty over all things.

Today’s Challenge

As we reflect on Psalm 50:7-15, let us remember that our receiving is directly related to our faith. Today, let us choose to believe God for great things, with a motive that seeks to glorify Him. May we trust Him to meet our needs and exceed our expectations.
