Empowered to Set Goals
Setting goals is not limited to New Year’s resolutions. We have the freedom to set them at any time, inspired by new concepts, visions, or motivations. Sometimes, all it takes is a spark to ignite our passion and drive.
Inspiration from Unlikely Sources
I was deeply inspired when my teenage son set his own “I Will” goals. Following his parents’ example, he committed to stretching his limits in his morning workout routine, focusing on the exercise machine, weights, and core strength training. It was remarkable to see him take ownership of his goals, especially when most teens would rather sleep in.
Spiritual Growth and Faith
Reflecting on my own spiritual growth goals, I recall making a commitment many years ago to follow Jesus. This decision led me to set values, standards, and goals for my lifestyle, choices, Bible study, friendships, and how I spend my time. By trusting the Lord daily, I can face life’s challenges and troubles with confidence.
Trusting in God’s Wisdom
I lean on God’s wisdom and guidance, knowing that He listens to my prayers. With faith, I press on, remembering that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. In the midst of life’s storms, I am comforted by the knowledge that He will never leave or abandon me.
Remembering My Identity
It’s essential to remember that I am a child of God. As I draw closer to Him, He lifts me up, comforts me, guides me, protects me, and empowers me according to His will. As His child, I enjoy the benefits of having Him as my Father, including blessings, favor, and an eternal home in heaven.
